Reza is an entrepreneur/intrapreneur experienced in program development and strategic planning. For six years, he has planned and implemented several strategic and operational programs at 3 international organizations and has worked with multiple teams embracing wide range of objectives, cultures, personalities and responsibilities. Reza has a Ph.D. in civil engineering and a master’s degree in construction management, both focused on organizational decision and project management, and has worked as a researcher and instructor for 7 years at two large universities. He has also served as a civil and construction engineer, assistant to project manager, and associate director of research and development through the first couple of years of his career.
Currently Reza is a visiting professor of Construction Management at Florida International University (FIU). Previously he worked at FIU as Assistant Strategy Manager at Office of the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, where he served as the coordinator for FIU 2020 Strategic Plan implementation, FIU Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship strategic initiative, and FIU Preeminent Programs Support initiative. Since 2008, Reza has been affiliated and actively involved with American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). At both national and local levels, his ASCE career has been a combination of program development and advisory services. During the past two years he has been member of ASCE Annual Convention Technical Program Subcommittee (ACAC-TPS), ASCE Committee on Leadership and Management (CLM) and Committee on Developing Leaders (CDL). He also serves as the chair of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships committee at ASCE Miami-Dade. Previously, he served as president and founder of the board of the Construction Institute (CI) chapter at ASCE Miami-Dade Branch for about 4 years. For the past year Reza has served as the co-chair of the 2019 ASCE Annual Convention Local Committee in Miami.
