Halloween is this Saturday and I am certain that it will be celebrated a bit differently this year than years before. Keeping that in mind, I wanted to start a virtual Halloween parade!
To start this virtual parade, I have included the photo below. For Halloween last year, my partner dressed up as Han Solo and I dressed up as Princess Leia (homemade costumes as well).
Growing up watching the original trilogy of Star Wars, I looked up to Princess Leia as an excellent representation of strength and empowerment for women. Fast forward to 2015 when
The Force Awakens premiered
, Leia was the leader of the Resistance! There's a lot more that I could talk about, including how much I admire Carrie Fisher, but I will leave it at that for now (and happy to talk offline with anyone about this).
For those who celebrate Halloween, what are your plans this year? If you are dressing up, feel free to share your photos here as part of a virtual Halloween parade! If you do not celebrate Halloween, I would love to hear how your October is going here as well!
