    Hi folks,

I would like to start a discussion about MicroStation tips and tricks as this is the main CAD software I use at my job. What is your go-to tip when using MicroStation?

For me, it is using the activate/deactivate command to update very minor overlapping labels or text conflicts to make the sheet easier to read.

(If you use another CAD software and have tips on that, please feel free to add them as well and list the software in your message!)

    Thanks,
    Danielle

    Hi Danielle,

I like the snap tools. If you leave an open window you can select them as you like. My favorite is selecting the tools by their shortcuts, there's a chain of buttons you can select without clicking on the button using the mouse, for example if I want to use a line, I click "Q" then the number associated with the command I am looking for. Each arrow has its own letters and the number follows after the letter for each specific tool.

It's just a little awkward because I use it differently from my coworkers. They don't know what tool I selected because of this. I do this with AutoCAD too and it's not intentional.
