My name is Joshua, and I am a graduate student at Vanderbilt University. My research focuses on natural hazards, flood risk, and risk literacy. I am developing an Adaptable Risk Literacy Assessment to help instructors understand people's decision-making capabilities, behaviors, and perceptions when encountering risks related to natural hazards and how they affect their willingness to mitigate. I plan to investigate how these elements can be improved through educational materials that cover risk-related issues. As part of this work, I have developed a questionnaire to gather insights from subject matter experts to ensure that the developed materials cover the most important topics related to flood risk mitigation. 

If you consider yourself a subject matter expert in flood risk and mitigation, I am reaching out to see if you would be willing to participate in this brief questionnaire and share your insights and best practices for flood risk management.

The questionnaire should take no more than 10 minutes of your time and would contribute valuable information to my project. Your participation in the survey will be strictly voluntary. All responses will be kept confidential using procedures approved by the Vanderbilt Internal Review Board (IRB), and no personal identifiers will be connected to your responses. For more information about your rights as a participant, you may contact the IRB toll-free at 866-224-8273.
