They say "... conference [maketh] a ready woman/man...." So what makes the ASCE-EWRI Congress particularly special? Better yet, what makes the Congress worth your time and expense? For starters, the Congress has the right blend of industry leaders, young professionals, public sector practitioners, ambitious researchers, and motivated students. For industry, it's the perfect conference to get visibility, scout your corporate competition, and recruit leaders of tomorrow. For academics, it's the perfect time of year to unwind from teaching and put some of that research up to constructive peer review via poster and oral presentations. For environmental and water resources students, it's the perfect conference to practice your public speaking skills, network, job search, and learn from others. For public sector professionals, it's the perfect conference for keeping industry and academia "in check," by posing the "so what?" question. For all, it's the perfect conference do a little mixing of business and pleasure, break away from the monotony, and simply enjoy yourself. This year's congress will be held in Austin, TX; a city known for its live music, great food, great people, and credence to "Keeping Austin Weird." This sounds like the perfect backdrop for an un-sanctioned EWRI fiesta! But only after a long days' worth of session hopping, presenting, and professional networking of course.
Moreover, the Congress organizers have an uncanny ability for providing scintillating conference topics, attracting environmental and water resources professionals from across the globe who are among the leaders and pioneers in their fields, and choosing the right host city venues for goers to explore beyond the convention center walls. ASCE-EWRI provides a platform for tackling some of the hardest water resources and environmental issues we face today. This is why I chose to get involved. ASCE-EWRI is an institute that can only help you. Help you grow, help you connect, help you learn, help you discover.
So "Come One, Come All" to the 2015 ASCE-EWRI Congress, Austin, TX, but hurry! The abstract deadline is September 10 (this Wednesday). More details are provided at:
