It's an outstanding expression of engineers' situation right now when she says, "Engineers who remain thoughtful, engage clients transparently, and document their reasoning are practicing in a way that aligns with where expectations are heading." LINK
I would add that they are making safety paramount and protecting themselves and their clients from liability. Rapid climate change is happening. We can argue about what public policies should be, but arguing about the facts of climate change is foolhardy. Proper engineering practice is to identify potential future conditions and inform clients of the implications and tradeoffs in design, construction, and operation.
