Hi, my name is Jenifer Eubanks, and I am a licensed professional civil engineer and currently the Assistant Construction Engineer for the SW Region-Mobile Area for the Alabama Department of Transportation. I was born and raised in Mobile, AL and attended Auburn University (War Eagle!) where I received my BSCE and later the University of South Alabama where I received my MSCE. I am married to Hank Eubanks, who is also a professional civil engineer at Volkert, Inc., and together we love this industry and our back porch talks have solved many an engineering problem. We have one son Zachery who reminds us how fun it is to create and learn and build every day while also teaching us that patience is a virtue. I have always been passionate about building things, seeing progress, and traveling. I learned at a young age through high-level strategic dinner table chats with my dad who helped run a public health system, amongst other things, that progress is accomplished through hard work, cultivating relationships, inclusion, leadership, and creating an environment where ideas and voices have a platform to be transformed into goals; that it is not where the idea came from but the outcome that should drive the journey; and most importantly, that great things are built by teams, not individuals. As young engineers working to become a contributing member of society, we are pulled in many directions unsure where to spend our time and energy. Joining and participating in organizations and attending conferences and meetings help us to socialize and trade ideas and experience with peers that can be invaluable to growing a career. My goal is to cultivate that shared network of ideas and leaders to keep this industry operating at the highest level as we all work towards engineering the safest, most reliable, and most efficient infrastructure to keep people moving. #ONETEAM
