Ing. Jaime Santamaría-Serrano (Colombia, South America) Jaime Santamaría-Serrano was Treasurer of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), Past Vice-President of the Pan American Federation of Engineering Societies (UPADI), and member of WFEO’s Anti-Corruption Standing Committee. He is member of the Board of Directors of the Pan American Academy of Engineering (API) and member of its Anti-Corruption Committee. He is Past International Director of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and member of its Committee on Global Principles for Professional Conduct which developed ASCE’s zero tolerance policy on corruption. He is Past Vice-President of the Colombian Society of Engineers and member of its anti-corruption programs. He is a civil engineer, with over 50 years experience, specializing as project manager in hydropower, highways, bridges, mass transportation and buildings projects. He has a Master’s Degree in Structural and Soils Engineering from the University of Illinois, a Bachelor in Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, a title of Civil Engineer from the Universidad de los Andes, Colombia, and diplomas from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Japan International Cooperation Agency. He was awarded the Colombian distinction “Julio Garavito Merit Order” by the Colombian Transportation Ministry, in recognition of his professional record and community services.
