As an aspiring thought leader in my field, I like to describe myself as a professional engineer and amateur philosopher. Many of my numerous writings and presentations over the years reflect how I look at engineering and its role in our society from a somewhat unusual perspective.
My experience includes working on a variety of aviation, industrial, commercial and institutional facilities for government, military and private-sector clients. My current and past assignments include both the modification of existing structures and the design of new construction.
I am nationally recognized in the field of building design to mitigate terrorist attacks and other intentional threats. I have taken a leadership role in the development of standards and guidelines for structural security and blast resistance. I am responsible for incorporating multidisciplinary antiterrorism considerations into each of my firm's projects, especially for the Department of Defense.
