Miss Sophie Lipomanis, M.ASCE

Bio

My name is Sophie Steed (formerly Sophie Lipomanis), and I am a Senior Associate in construction project controls and forensic scheduling with Capital Project Management, Inc. (CPMI). I specialize in CPM scheduling, delay analysis, claims support, and project controls on complex infrastructure and vertical construction projects across the United States.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the J.B. Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville and am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Construction Management at Purdue University. I hold the Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) credential and Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, with plans to continue advancing my expertise in forensic scheduling and construction claims.

My involvement with ASCE began as a student, where I proudly served as an ASCE National Student Ambassador (2019–2020), Executive Vice President of the University of Louisville ASCE Student Chapter, and Director of Society Relations for the J.B. Speed School Engineering Student Council under the Student Government Association. These leadership experiences strengthened my passion for mentoring future engineers and promoting the civil engineering profession.

I remain committed to lifelong learning, professional development, and advancing the field of construction engineering through collaboration, leadership, and technical excellence.
