Bio

Professionally:  Structural Engineer / Bridge & Tunnel Inspector since 1988.  Spent earliest year with Barnes & Jarnis (absorbed into Pennonni later) primarily doing inspections & ratings and continued mostly doing ratings and bridge design at Goodkind & O'Dea (absorbed in Dewberry at end of my time). Did mostly bridge rehabilitation at The BSC group after.  Worked on tunnel design (Central Artery Boston and the Spallation Neutron Source mostly) at Jacobs, plus several design-build bridge designs. Have ran the bridge and tunnel inspection program at AECOM (was DMJM Harris when I got here) for many years.  Been at AECOM since 2004. Now a Vice President running the tunnel inspection program nationally and bridge inspection program locally.

Volunteer / ASCE activity: Active in ASCE solidly since sophomore year of college. Past President of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section of ASCE (founded 1848, 4 years before ASCE -- we have to say that). Have been active with BSCES Public Awareness and Outreach Committee since its inception (2004, I think and helped run Model Bridge Contest and Future City even before that -- I think since 1999). Founder and somehow chair again of the BSCES DE&I Committee. President of MassHire MetroNorth (the regional workforce board). Eastern and Western New England Regional Coordinator of Future City. Coordinator of the BSCES Model Bridge Contest. Board Member of World Unity Inc. Corresponding Member of ASCE Committee on Career Pathway and member of the group dedicated to Community Colleges. Former member of ASCE sunsetted committees Committee on Volunteer Community Service (was chair) and Committee on Pre-College Outreach.
