John Cleary is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of South Alabama where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Civil/Structural Engineering. John earned Bachelor and Master Degrees from Cleveland State University and a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University. His research and professional expertise includes concrete materials, construction vibrations, bridge engineering, wave impacts on bridge structures, forensic engineering, and structural evaluation after extreme events. John is an active member of ASCE at the local level and SEI at the local and national level, where among other things he is a member of the SEI Board of Governors. John is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama and Florida.
