Bio

I am a Structural Engineering Consultant in Consulting Services Department, and the Chairman of the Onshore Structures Standards Committee, Saudi Aramco since 1997. My expertise includes analysis, design and structural condition assessment of steel and concrete structures, structural dynamics especially vibration control, structural health monitoring, damage detection, seismic design of buildings, and building systems. Before joining Saudi Aramco, I worked for two years as a Technical Manager in a local construction company (Judran) who imported a new building system (SISMO from Belgium). I was a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) from 1989 to 1994. I got the first Ph.D. in Civil (Structural) Engineering from KFUPM in 1989. He got M.Sc. in Structural Engineering and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from KFUPM in 1982 and 1980 respectively. I had published many technical papers in international journals and conferences. I am a member in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), ASCE-Structural Engineers Institute (SEI), Jordanian Engineers Association, & Saudi Council of Engineers. I am also a board member of the American Concrete Institute -Saudi Arabian Section- Eastern Province (ACI-SAC-EP). I am a mentor in the Specialist Development Program (SDP) in Saudi Aramco. I am regularly teaching short structural engineering courses offered by the Professional Engineering Development Division, Saudi Aramco.
