Bio

Background Mr. Craig has over forty (40) years of experience in the engineering, Management, and supervision of construction materials testing and special inspection on thousands of projects located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California since 1970. These projects included public and private construction, transportation, commercial, industrial, residential over one thousand schools, and more than a thousand hospitals. He managed and supervised engineers and technicians performing quality assurance (QA) services in the areas of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, shotcrete, reinforcing steel, masonry, steel welding and NDT, high strength bolting, fireproofing, roofing, full scale load testing, asphalt concrete, soils, and most other products used in construction.He has had direct involvement with code groups in the development of industry standards for materials testing and inspection procedures, as well as those for personnel qualifications. His responsibilities included development of quality control manuals for technical operations, as well as training of engineering and technical personnel. He was also responsible for quality systems audited by Caltrans (lab and field), Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Valley Transit Authority (VTA), Division of the State Architect (DSA), Concrete and Cement Reference Laboratory (CCRL), American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO), American Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL), the Joint Committee Special Inspection Agency Recognition Programs, and Corps of Engineers.In addition, Mr. Craig has been responsible for corporate quality control and loss prevention related to materials testing, inspection, and materials engineering services provided by 15 offices in California, Nevada, and Utah. This involved the quality control for 150-200 technicians and engineers. He has provided expertise on materials including concrete, masonry, soils, aggregates, reinforcing steel, structural steel, post-tensioning, asphalt concrete, roofing, and fireproofing. His services included litigation, troubleshooting, conflict resolution, training, documentation, calibration, licensing, certification, and engineering supervision. He has performed as a senior materials engineering consultant involving reinforced concrete, asphalt concrete, post-tensioning, structural steel welding, masonry, roofing, and anchor bolts. He has been responsible for supervision of field and laboratory personnel (20-30 people) performing inspections and testing in accordance with applicable building codes and standards; preparation and review of inspection reports; design and review of concrete and grout mixes; and specialized testing/consulting services. He has been active in many professional organizations, representing his employer and the CoMET industry.
