If I get the idea (picture a) this could be useful, is a common solutions in Mexico for avoid to construct continuos footing natural rock or RC foundation, the pic b) try to explain, in fact it's a "tiny mat" foudation for one or two story buildings. It's fast constructability and cheaper than traditional foundations.
