Thanks for the information, Ernesto.
I have mixed feelings -- part of me wants to stand up against ignorance about the need for DEI and the other part says that it doesn't matter what we call it as long as we are accomplishing the goals. It's understandable for organizations that are vulnerable to the administration's actions to change the terms, provided they remember the organization's goals. Yet, I really admire Costco's defiant stand in doubling down on DEI and the additional success it brought them.

I recently sat in on a townhall for APWA about their rollback of DEI. They will be removing trigger language from their DEI committee including renaming it to 'Membership Engagement' Committee. There were alot of questions about why the change, but it came down to they felt that some of the administration's EOs would prevent tax payer dollars from being used in organizations that promoted DEI. The discussion was recorded and posted to the APWA website, but here's the hyperlink to the updated committee charter.
There was also a lot of discussion about how it affects their Canadian affililiates (CPWA) since they are a part of APWA and not a separate organization. There were going to have a separate meeting to discuss how they would handle it going forward.

I was at the Multi-Region Leader Conference in Cleveland, OH last Friday through Saturday just last week (Feb 28 - Mar 1) for Regions 3, 6, & 7. The Society leaders talked about not changing our values and thought that ASCE was well set up to weather the DEI rollback since it was using JEDI and MOSAIC language instead. They had a JEDI awardee at the conference from Texas (I think).

Very few posts or comments. Are we giving up on DEI? Looking for another way?
