Subject: Student and Young Professional Scholarship Opportunity
Hello Danielle Schroeder,
I got an email from ASCE about student scholarship to attend the Structures Congress. I would like to know if international student members are considered for this student scholarship. I am a PhD student at Stellenbosch University in South Africa and I am registered as an ASCE (SEI) and SAICE student member. I would like to attend the April 2020 Structures Congress. Thanks.
Kind regards,

Structures Congress is an annual conference hosted by Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) that brings together more than 1,200 colleagues in the structural engineering field from the U.S. and abroad. This year it will be held St. Louis, Missouri from April 5th - 8th.
There are scholarships for both students and young professionals (35 and younger) to attend! There are 40 spots open this year for students and 25 for young professionals (5 of which are allocated specifically for young professional full-time teaching faculty). These scholarships are provided thanks to generous donors and support from the SEI Futures Fund.
More information on the Student Scholarship can be found here. More information on the Young Professional Scholarship can be found here.
I currently serve on the SEI Student Initiatives Committee and was a 2019 Young Professional Scholarship winner last year so if you have any questions about the scholarships, feel free to ask them below or message me directly. This is an awesome opportunity for networking, developing your core (or soft) skills, and getting more involved with SEI!
Do you know of any other opportunities for Students and/or Young Professionals coming up? Feel free to post them in this thread!
