In a post pandemic world, there is no wrong or right way to shake hands. When in doubt, ask: hug, handshake, high five, fist bump, elbow bump, wave, nod, or smile. I think the addition of the fist bump in the professional settling is a welcomed addition.

Handshakes perceived as weak are generally do not favor the person offering them/ My cousin is a lawyer and his handshakes are known to be bone-crushing to everyone. I don't suggest that for everyone, but here I am talking about it - the impact of strong first impression is a achieved. Firm and genuine for all is a good approach.
