I think the earlier you get involved the better. Organizations like AEI are a great place to network and also learn new technical skills and/or the latest trends in the industry that can make you a valuable asset to your company. Get involved in AEI by joining a local chapter if there is one in your location. And if there is not a local chapter, reach out to AEI National about getting one started. If starting a local chapter seems daunting at first, get to know more about AEI through getting involved in a committee like the Student Design Competition, the Young Professional Council, or one of the many AEI Build Communities - they are always looking for new members and new ideas. And of course, one of the most fun ways to get and stay involved is by attending the annual AEI Conference or Forum. This event occurs in the spring each year and is a great place to get involved, see old friends, meet new friends, and stay abreast of what is happening in the industry. Best of luck as you jump start your career! And we look forward to seeing you all get involved in years to come.

Subject: AEI - Getting and Staying Involved
Thank you all for attending the 2019 AEI Conference this year! During the conference, we had the opportunity to poll some of the younger members about the types of questions they have as they navigate the early stages of their career. The Young Professional Council would like to use this platform to hear feedback and discussion from the community about these questions and topics.
As a starting point, how do you get and/or stay involved in a professional organization like AEI throughout your career?
