  • 1.  Old HEC-1 Model

I have a project that I'm trying to reproduce a very old HEC-1 model (Version July 1978 Last Modification 26 Feb 79) to run on a newer HEC-1 model (Version 4.1 Jun 1998). I have coded the data and it runs and reproduces the inflow hydrograph but doesn't route the hydrograph through the dam.  I have tried a number of changes and nothing worked, so  I have attached the input (OSH2.dat) and output (OSH2.out)files and was wondering if some one could take a quick look and see if you see the problem and let me know the solution.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't see what you are doing wrong either.

PADEP Dam Safety recommended downloading the Maryland HEC1 editor & HEC1 program.

I wonder if you have an invisible code in the ASCII text file.  Maybe type over from scratch?

    Stanley:

I reviewed the code several time and could not find the problem. I opened the file in Corps of Engineers COED and there was no indication of a problem there either. Hats off to Chung-Cheng Yen for a good catch. My experience has shown, on many occasions that  'o' / '0' has been the culprit in coding errors. This exercise has been a good refresher lesson.

    Stanley,

First entry in SQ card should be "zero" not "o".
