The Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) has announced the results of the FY2016 Vice Presidential election, naming Cristiane Q. Surbeck, P.E., Ph.D., ENV SP, M.ASCE as the winner. Beginning Oct. 1, 2015, Surbeck will serve a four-year term on EWRI’s Governing Board. Cristiane will serve one year each as vice president, president elect, president, and past president of EWRI, in that order.
Cristiane Q. Surbeck is a Professional Civil Engineer and Associate Professor. In her career, she has spent equal number of years working in academia and consulting, with projects throughout the U.S. and abroad. Her commitment to EWRI for the past 15 years has included chairing the Sustainability Committee and the International Council; co-chairing the Visiting International Fellowship Committee; contributing to the 2014 report Pathogens in Urban Stormwater Systems; moderating, planning, and presenting at sessions at the annual Congresses; participating in eight leadership Council Weekends; co-teaching a short course, and serving as associate editor of the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management.
