    Dear ASCE community,

I am seeking some case studies that relate to the new ASCE Code of Ethics Canon 8:

#8. Engineers shall, in all matters related to their profession, treat all persons fairly and encourage equitable participation without regard to gender or gender identity, race, national origin, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability, political affiliation, or family, marital, or economic status.

Our (Starrett, Lara, Bertha) new ASCE book Engineering Ethics Real World Case Studies has been very well received. Canon 8 was finalized after we were already in-press with the book. So, we will be revising our book to reflect this new Canon.

Would you please describe real situations that you are aware of that did not meet this new Canon? Or situations that challenged this Canon (i.e., reasonable people would debate if the conduct violated Canon #8)? Certainly, please make all names and identities anonymous. You are also welcomed to email me directly (stevestarrett@...). Thank you.

    Kind Regards,
    Steve
