  • 1.  Words or sentences you hear most often at work?

    In my office:
    - Before the pandemic, on Skype: "Can you hear me?"
    - After the pandemic, on Teams: "You are on mute !!!" xD

    How about you?

When I was young, it was, "Because that's the way we've always done it." Haven't hear that in many years, for which I'm thankful.

This also makes for a great game. See: https://dilbert.com/search_results?terms=Buzzword%20Bingo. You just need to be careful. Not everyone may think it's fun.

    What a fun topic!

I'd say some of the ones we use the most are quotes from people we know that were part of humorous interactions.
    Some favorites:
    "My brain all fuzzy"
"You know I need the weekend"

A couple other phrases that that I enjoy hearing a lot:
"Hoogle it" (A mashup of my name and Google because the guys realized that if you wonder something out loud, I'll look it up and tell you the answer if I don't already know it)
"That needs to be put in the fun folder" (Funny screenshots or photos from our projects or conversations that we keep in a folder titled "fun" on our server)

    "I'm on it!"

    WARNING:
Before letting that person go, ask them
    a. What are you "On?"

    b. How will you do it?

    c. Why?

    Cheers,
    Bill

Re: "Words/Sentences You Hear Most Often At Work"

    At Project Startup Meeting:
    "Hey, great question Sally.
But we really do have to end this meeting and get back to work.
You know, we have a schedule.
I'll get back to you later."

    Q. When does this person get back to Sally?

    Cheers,
    Bill
