    Dear Sir,

I have two questions regarding to ASCE 10 (equations)

    The first one

I need to know the design wind speed used in Egypt (boursaid) to me matching with the equation of ASCE 10.

    the second one

I need to know the zone factor in Egypt (boursaid) to be matching with ASCE 10.

    Thank You.

The wind speed write-up in Wind Loading of Structures by Holmes says coastal areas are similar to other Mediterranean locations, citing 50-year MRI of 38 m/s gust from the US DoD (probably the Unified Facilities Criteria) for Alexandria. He says the interior can be significantly lower.
If the project is important or expensive enough (to save money if a lower wind speed is justified) it might pay to do a site wind study with a wind engineering consultant.

Egypt has had design wind loads provide in code of Practice for loading.  The more recent editions provide the design winds in speeds and not pressure. The codes of practice are written in Arabic.  The Middle east countries appear to be trending toward using   the Eurocodes.
