    Dear Carl,

I found an interesting resource related to the "philosophy" of this kind of pathology: Honeycombs in concrete and remediesi

The first answer is to check the real causes of the pathology (bad vibration, concrete components, forms). Then, if the damage is done, the best action is to demolish, but most people use mortar injections as reinforcement (e.g. SikaRep-100: Sika-Rep).

    Regards,

Honeycomb is non-homogeneous concrete, which occurs as a result of unstable condition of freshly prepared concrete. It is a challenging phenomenon, because it could adversely affect the concrete strength and performance.

The hardened component/column must be structurally evaluated, to establish the basic performance index, and then apply the retrofit (column jacketing) methods to improve/increase the structural condition.
