Cyberinfrastructure has become a critical element of science and engineering research. The National Science Foundation (NSF) continues to pursue means to support a comprehensive, integrated, sustainable, holistic and secure cyberinfrastructure, and through a Request For Information (RFI), is reaching out to all science and engineering communities for input. Diverse groups and individuals are invited under this RFI to provide input on the specific scientific and engineering research challenges that require advanced cyberinfrastructure for their solutions. NSF recognizes that different disciplines may need different resources; may have differing priorities for access, interoperability, and continuity; and may require external expertise to address the most critical problems in their discipline. NSF requests input from all fields of science, engineering and education to respond to this RFI. These contributions will be used during the coming year to inform the Foundation's strategy and plans for advanced cyberinfrastructure investments.
