Please join us on Thursday, June 20th to enjoy lunch and a presentation from John B. Rogers, P.E., F.ASCE who is an ASCE Region 9 Governor. Region 9 of ASCE oversees the entire state of California and Mr. Rogers represents/oversees the Los Angeles Section. Come hear and participate in a lively discussion regarding the state of the Civil Engineering profession and of our Professional Society of ASCE.

Presentation Background:

The presentation plans to cover and create a lively discussion regarding the state of the Civil Engineering profession and of our Professional Society of ASCE. The below topics are planned to discussed:

  • The Civil Engineering Employment Marketplace
  • Our Public Standing
  • The Regulatory Situation / State Board of Registration
  • ASCE's Past and Future
  • The ASCE Foundation
  • Future Workload Resulting from the State & Federal Infrastructure Spending

Presenter:

John B. Rogers, P.E., F.ASCE

ASCE Region 9 Governor

President of Inland Empire Survey & Engineering, Inc.

John Rogers started his career as the instrumentman on Parsons, Brinkerhoff, Quade & Douglas’s (now WSP Global) New York City survey crew.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering at Yale University; after Naval service in Vietnam, he worked for larger firms in San Francisco and San Diego. Since 1981 he has worked in southern Riverside County, in both private and public positions, and on large and small projects. Mr. Rogers brings a large knowledge base of engineering and survey related projects within the valley. He is regularly utilized as an expert witness for boundary or land use disputes by attorneys in the area. Mr. Rogers license allows him to practice civil engineering and land surveying within California. Additionally, Mr. Rogers aids in site design and planning for new land development projects.

Mr. Rogers has also been extremely involved in ASCE at the Branch, Section, Region, & Society levels as shown below:

  • 2019-Present: ASCE Foundation Region 9 Trustee

  • Present: ASCE Region 9 Governor, Representing the Los Angeles Section
