Speaker: Professor Michael Celia, member of the US National Academy of Engineering
About: Professor Celia will begin the presentation discussing the current state of climate change. The presentation will then discuss the basics of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), with a focus on what is needed for a large-scale CCS industry to develop, using infrastructure development in the United States as a case study. After comments on the worldwide prospects for CCS, the lecture will conclude with comments on the need to plan civil infrastructure for significant climate change impacts.
