    Fellow Engineers and Members,

If you have an interest in coastal issues and enjoy serving others, as President of eRotary Coastal Club, I would like to invite you to consider joining us and pursue your passion (eRotaryCoastal.org). Like all Rotarians, we are focused on bringing positive change through service but unlike a traditional club, we are singularly focused on the unique issues and opportunities of living and working in coastal communities. Our eClub meets at noon Central Time every other Thursday on-line and is currently open to the public.

Our immediate focus is on the complex and urgent issues of the vanishing coastal areas of Southern Louisiana as we bring together a broad range of speakers and perspectives in easy-to-join, online meetings. Over the past 25 years coastal Louisiana land has been vanishing at an astounding rate of one football field per hour (1,700 sq mi); and over the next 30 years could lose an additional 2,000 sq mi of precious irreplaceable cultural, recreational, ecological, and commercial resources.

Last week, Louisiana's Governor Edwards declared a state of emergency for the Louisiana Coast. This declaration coincides with the State and Federal governments beginning to release up to $50 Billion of an estimated $150 Billion in new infrastructure projects to stabilize, protect, and restore Louisiana's vanishing coastline.

Please join us this Thursday (April 27th) as Justin Ehrenworth (President & CEO: The Water Institute of the Gulf) makes a presentation on The Necessity of Collaboration. To join the on-line meeting simply use the meeting portal on our home page (eRotaryCoastal.org). To join our eClub simply use the "Apply Now" button on our home page.

Have a fantastic day and rest of the week. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to post them on-line and I will respond. Or you can contact me directly at Philip@....
