I am working on a project "Bollard-Cable system" at Fort Bragg, NC about installing bollards ties with cables. Anyone can share some idea/thought about calculating soil resistance from an embedded bollard foundation. The resistance of bollards from vehicle impact depends variable factors, such as bollard diameter, vechicle weight, height penetration, foundation depth & width, etc. I knew about those, but when it comes to soil resistance, I don't know how we should approach. Using active soil resistance, etc. based on the face of concrete face against soil may not be enough to resist the impact force which I knew how to calculate, Kinetic energy equals to work, etc. Then I can find the impact force.
Please anyone tells me how to find the soil resistance strong enough to resist and impact force.
Thank you.
