This Saturday is the penultimate Engineering Lab for kids aged 10-17 at the Beale Library!
If you don't know, the YMF group hosts a twice monthly lab targeted at teens and tweens where we introduce engineering topics through hands-on labs, activities, and experiments.
This week's lab is a
geodesic dome building challenge. Students will be presented with plans for a dome and they must work together to construct the (approximately) 6' dome. During the lab we will discuss the importance of construction documents and team work and, of course, we will explore the geometric properties of domes and the work of Buckminster Fuller.
