We are working on a community project that involves non-residential construction, specifically to restore an abandoned railroad to service. The leasing agency wants to reference its own building code for state buildings, or alternatively, the IBC.
We have proposed using ASCE 7. Given the unique nature of the engineering in the project, largely AREMA driven but with some standard construction, utilities, crossings, platforms,etc. would ASCE 7 be a better tool to use than the IBC?...
