Hi guys, I hope everything is going great for you!

Currently, I'm studying for a master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering at the National University of Colombia, the issue is that I have to make a research and present a document called thesis at the end of my career. Right now I have much confusion regarding the topic of my research because this University does not accept case histories, but they do accept "pure research"(for master by research). The thing is that I'm in coursework option and I'd like to have some research in my thesis but it does not imply that I have to present deep research on a topic.

So, I'd like to know and be very grateful if you can suggest me some topics, more specific, more helpful. Some areas that could be great for me are:
    1. Geotechnical risks.
    2. Sustainability in geotechnics *indicators, ratios, measurements

    Thanks!

Dear Jhon, I am sorry for the late reply.
Regarding the info you offer, I guess that an exciting topic for you to perform could include the utilization of new tools like GIS and data mining to cross the information of the Colombian geological map, soil studies and try to create a mask with identified historical risks so you can identify possible risk areas for the construction area. It is just a thought.
