    Greetings everyone!!,

I am about to start my M.S. in Civil Engineering - Construction Materials specialization from spring 2020 in the US. Hence, I would like to know about the industrial career prospects of a candidate having specialization in Construction Materials in the US. Therefore, a request to the members for sharing their experience in this regard.

There are plenty of possibilities. State DOT's should have staff writing the specs for larger highway projects throughout their respective states. Here in Wisconsin they have several engineers that work in the Construction Materials area. They help to write the Construction and Materials Manual:

There are plenty of Construction Testing consultants that I have worked with in the past just in the Milwaukee area. Other possibilities would be with Concrete Mix companies as well as cement manufacturers like Lafarge or Cemex. Any pipe manufacturers or construction materials manufacturer would have staff as well as sales people who would need a background in materials.

Thank you, Sir, for your guidance. I shall be starting my studies coming spring at UoI at Urban-Champaign. Your description of the opportunities available reinforces my interest in joining the program.
