Subject: Advice for a professional career
Hey Firas,
Look for small engineering firms around your locale and find out who the decision makers at each respective organization. Then, send neatly hand-written letters or make phone calls to those decision makers expressing your internship interests (try not to email – they get easily overlooked). Smaller firms are more likely to be open to interning than larger firms since there's a lot less bureaucracy in human resources.
Good luck and take care!

Hello All,
I am a graduate student in the geotechnical area. I have experience working as a civil engineer in the Middle East but no job experience working in the US. My question is how can I get an internship opportunity that helps me to get a position with the US companies? I would appreciate your suggestions. I didn't find an internship that is designed for graduate students.
