 MITS Civil Engineering Department has started ASCE Student chapter in 2023 and conducting numerous events every year. Primary focus of these programs is to develop students to be true civil engineering professionals, bridge the gap between industry and academia, connect and collaborate with other ASCE student chapters world wide. The chapter is entirely run and managed by students. Leaders of the chapters along with their team members are doing excellent job in planning and executing various events. ASCE IS SR leadership visited MITS chapter and guided our students on how to take the chapter to a global stage, connect with industry experts all over the world. 
 Being part of a student community helps the students meet like-minded students, compete in engineering challenges, and enjoy a wide range of events and networking opportunities. Membership drive was conducted and benefits of being members were discussed.
Event 2:
Empowering future civil engineers with career insights and essential skills

Resource Person: Dr. Kishore Pankan (Treasurer ASCE IS SR), Managing Director, Habilete Learning Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Kollam, Kerala
Attended by 80 Civil Engineering Students and faculty members
His talk highlighted the critical skills and knowledge needed for civil engineering professionals, providing students with valuable guidance on how to navigate their future careers. He has spoken on the BIM Technology (Building Information Modeling) from 1D to 10D. Several softwared products used to facilitate BIM were also discussed. He has also shown the students real time project of an Airport which his company is designing using BIM.
