A Message From the Incoming Board

We are very excited to get moving with new events and opportunities for our members. After a delayed start this season we are quickly adding events to the calendar. Look below for some of the events already planned. There will be a focus on joint events with other organizations to maximize the potential networking opportunities and variety of events. We can't wait to see you all in person.

From The Candidate For President

Thank you for reading and participating your local section. I've been participating on the board for the last 3 years and look forward to continuing. A big goal I have for the year is start annual scholarship fundraiser and OPAL awards banquet. Proceeds will go to a student in need who is registered to attend the engineering program at Tacoma Community College, University of Washington Tacoma or St Martin's University. I hope we can turn this into a yearly can't miss event. The winner of the individual engineer of the year award will win a nice prize (so nominate your friends). We already have two great joint events planned and I look forward to meeting you at our next social. Keep your eye out for emails for events, info on OPAL awards and the ballot. Please reply to the ballot and give the board your support.

BOARD ELECTION

A message will be going out soon with ballots for the local section board. The ballot will be a slate of volunteers who have already or will be assuming board roles. To help the board and the section, please respond to the ballot within two weeks of receiving. Even though it's not a competitive election, we still need responses to have a board.

FREE GOLF EVENT

Everyone come to Stadium Golf Tacoma January 18th from 5:30-8:30PM! Tacoma-Olympia section will provide the lane rentals and appetizers. Clubs will be available to borrow but feel free to bring your own. An announcement with RSVP information will go out soon so keep an eye out. Hope to see you there!

And a heads up on future events:

Joint event with SEAW on February 28th. Tour of Basalite facility and presentation by Northwest Concrete Masonry Assocation.

Joint event with SAME on March 12th. Stay tuned for details.
