Have you seen any ASCE (or other) resources regarding structuring a public, private, or PPP for dredging management? Aside from getting USACE to lead projects, I'm looking for models and financing mechanisms to evaluate. Also interested in dredging equipment types, costs, labor, training, etc.

All the resources popping up on ASCE's website relate to hydraulic and sediment transport calculations and controls. I noted the webinar "Sustainable Sediment Management for Navigation Projects" and book "Inland Navigation: Environmental Sustainability," but I'm not sure they have what I'm looking for. Any guidance?

    Thank you!

Denise: Thanks for the post. The COPRI Waterways Committee has a dredging subcommittee, led by Tim Welp. Dennis Lambert, Chair of the WW Committee, recently led an effort on PPP in waterway engineering. If you'll email me at whmcanally@..., I'll put you in touch with those folks. You may also be interested in joining the WW Committee.

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for your quick response to my post on ASCE Collaborate. The site didn't show your full email address, but I found an EDU address and sent you a message. I would greatly appreciate any connections you can facilitate!

My email address is denise@.... In case that also gets hidden, it's "denise" at "bgllc.net".

    Thank you!
    Denise

Apart from the ASCE and USACE sources, I have found the British Standard BS 6349-5 Part 5: Code of practice for dredging and land reclamation, as a very comprehensive treatise on dredging. The 2016 update is on sale, but you can download the 1991 version for free.
