- Manage learning: Organize learning, manage time and information, and identify learning opportunities
- Be aware: Be aware of one's learning process and needs, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of learning strategies
- Overcome obstacles: Identify obstacles and find ways to overcome them
- Gain new knowledge: Gain, process, and assimilate new knowledge and skills, and seek guidance
