Based on recent-past ASCE Education Conferences, some issues frequently mentioned by both faculty and firm executives include, but are not limited to:
- How to transform a group of assigned engineers to a project into an expert team?
- How to argue a point without alienating others?
- How to "Translate" what people mean when addressing a point from either a high or low level of abstraction?
Some believe that the current system for the development of engineers in education, training, and their development still lags the actual, documented needs for what the marketplace expects today and going forward.
There is a related thread from 2018 on how to innovate engineering education here.
Stay Healthy!
