It's fine to suggest that leaders should be ethical. But what if we are the follower of an unethical leader? What if we identify unethical thinking or behavior within our team that is accepted or overlooked? Whether we see ourselves as following a particular leader, a cause, or a calling, what do we do as ethical followers to promote ethics at work?

My name is Dr. Kyle Payne, and I'm pleased to invite professional engineers in the United States to participate in a qualitative study on ethical followership. If you would be open to discussing how you have navigated ethical dilemmas in your work, I would love to interview you. These interviews last up to one hour and are semi-structured, allowing us to focus on experiences that are significant to you.
