Hi
Jameelah,
There is a science to making decisions under uncertainty. If you search under 'decision quality' you'll find a wealth of information on the topic. I had the good fortune to work with, and train under, the Strategic Decision Group (SDG) during my career and became a practitioner of their process. SDG has a number of good and free videos on their website, e.g.,
https://sdg.com/webinars/right-decisions-right-now/ . I would also encourage you to look at the field of 'scenario planning'. Like decision making under uncertainty, there are tools and processes to help develop an informed view of possible futures.

Subject: Making Decisions in Times of Uncertainty
Greetings to you all,
I find it challenging to plan for the future without having firm information ahead of time. For example, determining logistics for a prospective event is difficult in the current state of the world. I would like to know any strategies you have for projecting into the future, especially when it is hard to gauge what it will look like.
How do you make decisions (for event planning or other aspects of your work or family life) in times of uncertainty?
I wish everyone well,
Jameelah
