In the future, what impact will the COVID-19 pandemic have on modes of travel for local work commutes?
I am interested in hearing your reflections on the use of travel modes (i.e. mass transportation, bicycles, shared-use vehicles, foot, and/or private automobiles) to commute to work in the future. Also, if you would like to comment further, will your own mode of travel to work change and why?
For your reference, there is a thoughtful editorial in the ASCE Journal of Transportation Engineering, Part A: Systems entitled
"The COVID-19 Pandemic and Transportation Engineering" that explores questions related to this topic by authors Chris Hendrickson, Ph.D., NAE, Dist.M.ASCE and Laurence R. Rilett, Ph.D., M.ASCE.
Thanks for your consideration,
Jameelah
