As a professional engineer, what is your take on volunteering time to review Technical Papers/Articles or Engineering Students' paper submissions?

When was the last time you volunteered as a Reviewer?

Great question. I too am interested but not sure about the process. As a practicing engineer, having gone through various phases of projects, I feel like there is much to contribute towards larger engineering community. Sometimes, it is good to learn from others mistakes/lessons learned rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.
    Cheers!

Thanks for a great post, Lydie.

Anyone interested in serving as a reviewer can send an email to journal-services@..., describing their field(s) of technical interest. That puts their name in a database of potential reviewers that journal editors can browse to select appropriate reviewers for each paper. If you are invited to review a paper, you can read the abstract and accept or decline the invitation based on the technical content or your availability at that time.
