Hi Jiqiu,
Great relevant topic. For everyone's information, Dr. Cris B. Liban from ASCE has been one of the individuals pushing for standards and best practices on sustainable infrastructure. Let me know if you wish to learn more.
Also, there are existing voluntary rating systems such as Envision, LEED, and Greenroads that provide many best practice principles.
One practice that I highly regard is the use of Life Cycle Assessment. Cradle to Grave methodology allows engineers to fully understand the long term impact of their projects.
Best regards,

Subject: Best Practices on Sustainable Infrastructure
Hi all,
I would like to start a thread about the best practices on sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
I read the ASCE News titled "Global Partnership Positions ASCE to Lead Climate Change Mitigation Effort". The news is short and easy to read: https://news.asce.org/global-partnership-positions-asce-to-lead-climate-change-mitigation-effort/.
The new International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure's 2020 activities include sharing knowledge and training on global best key practices, among others.
Abovesaid, what knowledge or training on global best key practices on sustainable and resilient infrastructure could you share?
From the news, ASCE signed an agreement to advance a coalition focused on several key points. Corresponding to one of the focused points:
What do you think the gaps and barriers for the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of sustainable and resilient infrastructure are?
Every response is highly appreciated!
