The World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) ISO Category A Liaison status allows WFEO to directly contribute global engineering expertise to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards development. ASCE recently became one of the WFEO Category A Liaisons for ISO/TC 59 Buildings and Civil Engineering Works.
As a Category A liaison, WFEO can submit working drafts, actively participate in technical committee (TC) meetings, and nominate expert engineering representatives for the working groups (WGs) where the standards are actually written. WFEO currently has 14 formal liaisons with ISO.
