• Based on the criticality of the work's eventual outcome:

a. Member's of the project group do the verification; or,

b. Member's of colleagues in the firm not involved in the work do that; or,

c. Independent outside reviewers not connected to the firm do that work.

And one expects that this and more is discussed, and decided within the start of the project.

Implementing "Phase Gate Reviews" every 3 weeks is another prudent solution.
