Join us for a roundtable discussion hosted by the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI) live from COP26.

The discussion will explore the need for the engineering community to take more influential and solutions-oriented positions on issues related to climate, resilience and sustainable infrastructure – both at the global level and within a country-specific or regional context.

Infrastructure needs are rising, particularly in regions with growing urbanization, and in places where climate impacts are putting more and more pressure on existing infrastructure and vulnerable communities and natural systems.

ICSI places engineers at the forefront of climate action and provides them a seat at the table for important convenings like COP26, harnessing and leveraging their ability to provide solutions and matching it with the urgent demands of policymakers and infrastructure owners and operators.

This session will discuss the role of the engineering community in bridging the gaps on climate, sustainability and resilience and will highlight examples of ICSI’s
    work in this space.

It will also explore the need and opportunities for strengthening engagement of the engineering community through coordinated advocacy campaign(s) and greater participation in key regional and global convenings to address the challenges of the next decade in the Global South as well as the Global North.

Participants include Representatives from ICSI’s Founding Members including ASCE, the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy, ICE, The Resilience Shift, and WSP, alongside representatives of the engineering communities.
