During September 23 – 26, there will be in-depth discussion on asset management (AM)/infrastructure in our nation’s capital.

In addition to case studies on the adoption of the ISO55000 asset management standard (including the US Air Force and Raytheon),

panelists and speakers will present updates on Congressional adoption of AM principles in the funding and spending of federal dollars.

There is a day of AM advocacy on Capitol Hill where professional interface with staffers and legislators.

On September 24, a presentation will be made of a recently adopted ASTM practice on infrastructure management, followed by a discussion of the disasters that occur because of the failure to properly manage assets.

If you are interested in attending, please let me know and I can pass on additional information. I would like to start the conversation here. What can we do to avoid disasters that occur because of improperly managed assets?

What a great conference. I wish I could attend! If there are any recordings, papers, or presentations available afterwards I would love to see them.

    Colleen,
Perhaps you are interested in joining the ASTM task group in writing guidances?

There is a webinar planned soon, on the infrastructure practice.  Send me a message at marty.Rowland@...

You need to start with a solid Asset Management Plan.  The plan should include at a minimum, managing your inventory of assets, how asset condition is rated, what is the current condition, what is the performance goal for condition, what is the investment required to achieve performance, what is the gap between required investment and current investment, what is the life cycle maintenance plan (i.e. preservation vs replacement), what are the risks and risk management plan.
