The Coronavirus is unleashing a disruptive force of consequential impact across a wide swath of life that we have taken for granted. What do you see as the lasting impacts or changes that will result and what are the implications for Civil Engineers in terms of what we work on and how we do our work?

To get everyone thinking, an obvious impact might the enhanced use of remote working. This could challenge existing paradigms regarding office space. It could also lead to an enhanced work-life balance and reduce barriers for those that have challenges travelling. It could also lead to smaller airports due to reduced business travel and less demand for aviation fuel due to reduced flights.

One aspect that I was interested in seeing was if it was possible to also cross boundaries. For example, in addition to remote work, could it be possible for someone work remotely throughout different states? If so, what how would that effect licensing?
